Baby Accessories You’ll be Glad You Bought

Expecting parents are a marketers dream, especially first time parents. They’re so anxious to ensure their baby has everything they need that they’ll spend crazy amounts of money on all kinds of things. Most of those things, barring the obvious (crib, diapers, stroller), are not at all necessary for bringing up a perfectly healthy, happy baby. That being said, there are a few baby accessories you’ll be glad you bought.

Exploring Helen, Georgia with Kids

By on September 4, 2017

I’ve been visiting Helen, Georgia, a replica Bavarian Alps town in North Georgia, for longer than I can remember. My parent’s have a timeshare at a beautiful resort right on the river, and we’ve spent so many weeks relaxing and exploring the small town.

Now that I have my own kiddos, it’s been so fun going back and doing all the things I grew up doing. Some of them are just as wonderful and fun as I remember, and some seem a little strange now that I’m older. (Like watching the birth of a baby doll out of a cabbage…)

But if you live in the South East, you may want to put Helen, Georgia on your travel bucket list. The town is cozy and quaint, and you can find some great eats and some amazing outdoor views and adventures!

10 Adorable Cooking Tools You’ve Gotta Have

I spend a lot of time in the kitchen. Most days at home with the kids just drag on, and I’m literally counting down the minutes until I can turn on some Paw Patrol for the rug rats and escape to the kitchen to cook dinner. It’s my “me time.” Some days I turn on my Dolly Parton Pandora station, tie my apron around my waist, and channel my inner 50’s housewife while I whip up something tasty for my family. And some days, I throw my dirty hair up into a messy bun, adjust the waist band of my tattered old yoga pants, and boil up some water for boxed mac and cheese. Just keepin’ it real here!

But regardless of whether you love cooking or hate it, cook like Julia Child or cook like a child, we can all agree that having cute kitchen gadgets makes cooking more fun.

Father’s Day Gift Guide – Gifts for the Nerdy Dad

My husband is an amazing dad. He’s so great with kids! There’s nothing he loves more than coming home from work, putting on one of his superhero t-shirts, and playing with the kids for hours. I’m pretty sure the reason that he’s such a good dad is because he’s still a kid at heart. Seriously. He has more action figures than Graham does!

Yes, my husband is a nerd. A movie buff, comic book-loving, electronic obsessed nerd. But I’m pretty dorky myself (#disneynerd) so I guess that’s why we get along so well?

So if you have a lovable nerdy husband, just like mine, here is my Father’s Day Gift Guide – Gifts for the Nerdy Dad.

This is How We Target

By on March 29, 2017

We have a Target about a mile and a half from our house. I pass it pretty much every day, so you can imagine how much time I’ve spent there. Especially since we’ve had kids. When Graham was little, I got into a really bad habit of going about 3 times a week. He was such a good shopper – quiet and content to just sit in the cart. These days, I love a good Target trip alone. Strolling around Target with a Starbucks coffee is my idea of a fun evening. (#sobasic)

Anyway, I thought I’d do a little post here about why I don’t like taking Maddie to Target. You’d think I’d love taking my girly little princess to Target to shop. You know – like a mother/daughter thing.

But no.

That girl is SUPER annoying.
