I’ve been dying to take another Disney Cruise since we got home from our first one last April. My dad joined us this time and we were all SO ready to make some wonderful memories on the Disney Dream. We got to the port super early and scored boarding group 2. That meant that we were some of the first people on the ship! It was a really great first day, despite the kids being a little grumpy. I think they were probably just a little overwhelmed.
What better way to celebrate our 12th anniversary than with a trip to the same place we honeymooned back in 2007! You guys know we’re huge Disney nerds and we love celebrating special events at the happiest place on Earth!
We decided to drive down to Orlando – mostly so that I wouldn’t catch any germs from the flight. And believe it or not – I managed to stay well during the entire trip. We left as soon as we dropped the kids off at school that morning and made the 7-hour drive down. It was a breeze without kids!
Road trip!
We checked in at the hotel and then headed straight over to Epcot to enjoy the Food and Wine Festival. It was our first time at this festival and we managed to eat and drink our way around half of World Showcase before we got too full.
One of the treats I always have to get each time we go to Disney World is a Dole Whip. I love the tropical flavors of that iconic treat! It’s the perfect thing to cool you off after a lap or two around the Magic Kingdom. It’s smooth and creamy, and sweet and sour! So a few weeks ago when I was brainstorming ideas for Fish Extender gifts for our next Disney Cruise, I thought it would be cool to do a Dole Whip scented body scrub. Remember when I used to blog consistently? 😂 I didn’t mean to take the summer off from blogging, but I won’t lie and say I was upset about the break. It was some much-needed time off! I was already feeling uninspired and was in a creative rut near the end of the school year. And since our summer was so busy, I’m not going to let myself feel guilty about taking a break!
We actually had a really nice summer. The kids played well together, we spent a ton of time at the pool, I was able to prioritize working out and self-care, and I managed to NOT get sick on our beach vacation. (I tend to get sick every time we travel. More on that later…)
