Disney Recap – Magic Kingdom and Epcot

My two favorite parks are Magic Kingdom and Epcot.

Magic Kingdom has the castle and so many amazing rides. But Epcot has yummy food, the World Showcase, and Soarin’ – which is my all-time favorite ride. I really can’t decide which one I like better! What’s your favorite Disney park?

The first stop on our first Magic Kingdom day? Taking a ton of pictures in front of the castle, of course! I booked us an early dining reservation for breakfast just so we could take some pictures without a million people in the background.

Simple and Easy Disney Princess Disney Bounding Ideas

When you go to Disney World, everywhere you turn you’ll see a little girl wearing a sweet princess dress and a crown or tiara. After all, who wouldn’t want to dress like a princess at Disney?! Not to destroy your dreams, but adults aren’t allowed to dress up in the parks. But there is a way to express your love of Disney through your clothing – Disney Bounding!

Disney Bounding is a subtler way of dressing up like a Disney character using colors and accessories inspired by the original outfits. It’s such a great way to make your Disney trip a little more fun. Especially if you’re planning on meeting that same character that day! I love looking for comfy, affordable pieces online for Disney Bounding outfits. Amazon, Target, and the Disney Store are always my first stop! Hot Topic usually carries great Disney accessories as well.

If you’re looking for some Disney Bounding inspiration, check out my simple and easy Disney Princess Disney Bounding ideas!

Review of the Pixar Play Zone at Disney World’s Contemporary Resort

Edit – the Pixar Play Zone is no longer open at Disney World as of April 2019.

Josh and I have always loved Disney. In fact, we honeymooned at Disney back in 2007 when we were first married. So we definitely know how fun Disney can be without kids! During our most recent trip to Disney, we wanted to recreate that kid-free fun, so we booked our kids a night at the Pixar Play Zone – Disney’s kids-only experience located at the Contemporary Resort right next to the Magic Kingdom.

For $65 per child, your kids (ages 4-12) can play from 5pm to 10:30pm at the Play Zone. They’ll eat dinner, meet characters, do crafts, play games, and even end the night with a dance party! I know the price may seem high, but for five and a half hours of childcare, plus dinner, crafts, and character meet and greets, it really isn’t bad. It comes out to around $12 an hour per child, which seems reasonable for all that’s included. And for us, after almost a week with our kids 24/7, it was totally worth it to get a few hours to ourselves!

We love spending time at our neighborhood pool during the summer. There’s nothing like sunshine and water to wear your kiddos out! (And to be totally honest, sometimes I even need a nap after spending some time at the pool!)

We’ve been members of our neighborhood pool for 3 years now and I’ve finally got a good system down for getting out the door and to the pool quickly and efficiently. The first summer, my kids were still little, and getting ready for the pool seemed like more work than it was worth! But now that they’re 3 and 5, we’re finally at a point where we can grab our bag, towels, a few snacks, and head to the pool for some fun in the sun!

Here’s a list of the things that I always keep on hand during the summer to make getting ready to go to the pool easy-breezy.

Pool Essentials for Preschoolers

1. A Big-A** Bag

I hate having multiple bags to bring to the pool. It ends up being way too much to carry. I have one huge bag that I throw everything in when we’re headed to the pool. My bag is a Lands’ End extra large canvas tote bag, but there are some great options on Amazon!
