Neato! Finding the FUN at Work

By on August 12, 2010
There are very few things at work that I find truly “fun.” (Read my whiny post here.)
But lately, I’ve been trying find happiness in the little things in life. So for the next few blog posts, I’d like to share with you the small parts of my job that I actually enjoy. We’ll call this series “Finding the FUN at Work.”
First off –
“The Neato”
Otherwise titled “How to put a CD cover onto a CD”
1. Peel off your CD label
2. Grab your Neato (I LOVE that it’s call theNeato!)
3. Put the CD Label onto the Neato, sticky side up
4. Put the CD onto the Neato
5. Push down
6. Wait for it, wait for it, wait for it…
POP! The CD pops up and…ta-dah! You have a perfectly aligned CD cover. NEATO! (Uunfortunately, I can’t show you a picture of the finished product because it is confidential. Boo.)
But I sure do love when that CD pops up! It’s kind of like a jack-in-the-box. And I have to smile every time. 🙂
Like I said, you have to find fun in the little things in life. 🙂

Tune in next time for another installment of “Finding the FUN at Work!”

And I’ll leave you today with these ADORABLE pictures of my baby boy helping me put up the laundry.
He’s so goofy!

Hello. My name is Holly, and I’m a creepy blog-stalker

By on August 6, 2010

Yesterday I figured out how to “subscribe” to non-blogger.com based blogs and how to show all the blogs I follow on my blog. (Finally – took me long enough to figure that out!) So I decided today that I should stop being “Holly the creepy blog-stalker” and start getting more involved in the blogging community. I went ahead and subscribed to some of my favorite blogs and I’m going to try to comment more on posts that I enjoy. Of course, now that I’ve made this commitment, I’ll need to be more diligent on updating my own blog. 🙂

The other thing that set off my whole new blogging attitude was that I got my first comment from someone other than my hubby. It. Was. Awesome!!!! It literally made my day. So thanks to the Newlywed Next Door for my first non-husband comment! Next time I watch the X-Files, I’ll think of you. 🙂

You probably shouldn’t be watching this on the breakroom tv…

By on

I just walked into the breakroom to dump my cherry coke zero can into the recycling bin.

“La la la, walking to the breakroom, mindin’ my own business, do dah.”

And the TV in the breakroom was on.

“Geez – ppl around here always leave this on! I’ll be nice and turn it off after I dump this can…”

But before I could, I heard some guy on the station say, “He sure has had a lot of sex this year!”

“WHAT?! What did he just say?!”

I whipped around to see what was on.

“What the heck was someone watching in our breakroom?!?!?!”

……

But then I realized it was ESPN. And the guy had said “sacks” not “sex” …which makes a LOT more sense.

🙂

It’s FRIDAY!!! Only an hour and a half until 5pm! Woo hoo!

Score!

By on July 21, 2010

I’ve been drooling over this rug from Target.com for 4 months. I haven’t bought it cuz it was waaay too expensive. Well on Monday I finally decided I wanted it bad enough. So I went to buy it and they were SOLD OUT!!!!! 🙁

I was so sad. *Sniff*

But I didn’t give up hope, I kept looking annnnnd SCORE! I found that rug somewhere else! AND you could order it through Amazon.com! My hubby said he’d order it for me so he could get Amazon points.

Well not only did my sweet hubby order that rug for me, he got me some discount and the rug was $100 cheaper!!! Woo hoo!

I love him. 🙂 And I hope I love the rug – I’ve only seen it online. When it’s delivered, I’ll take some pics.

And on another note:

WE TOOK THE PLUNGE!

Yes, we finally scheduled (well, paid for) our IKEA Home Kitchen Design Service. (They are supposed to call me this afternoon to schedule, but they already took my credit card payment over the phone…I hate giving my credit card number over the phone…)

So now we’ve put $249 non-refundable dollars down. We’ve got to do it now. 🙂

I am SUPER excited though. I can’t wait to have a beautiful new kitchen!! That kitchen designer better watch out though – I have a million questions. I know what style of everything I want, I’m just not sure of the layout. That’s what I really need help with. I know I want an island too, but we may end up waiting for that, depending on the cost.
