We’re leaving in 5 days for our first cruise ever – and it’s a Disney cruise! You know how obsessed we are with Disney and we can’t wait to experience all of the fun. We’ll be sailing for 5 days/4 nights in the Bahamas with a stop in Nassau and a stop at Disney’s private island – Castaway Cay. This is a dream vacation for us – something that’s been on our bucket list for a long time and I feel so blessed that we’re at a point in our lives where we can swing this financially. (I guess all that solo parenting while my husband travels has finally paid off! Seriously though – Josh works so hard to provide for us and I’m so grateful for him.)

Fish Extender Program

One of the many unique and special things about a Disney cruise is the option to participate in the fish extender program. It’s a gift exchange program named after the small fish hook that’s on each stateroom door. The hooks are there for the Disney cruise line to hang important information for you for the cruise. If you choose to participate in the fish extender program, you’ll make (or buy) a hanging pocket organizer that will hold small gifts that other people in your fish extender group will provide for you. You’ll also bring small gifts to pass out to the families in your group during the cruise.

The fish extender program isn’t run by Disney – it’s something separate. To get involved, just search Facebook for your cruise dates and join the facebook group. Then you can sign up to participate in the program. You’ll get a list with 5-6 other families who will be in your fish extender group and you’ll buy or make gifts for each of them. (Or you can do one large gift for the whole family.)

Coffee and Donuts Fish Extender Gift Idea for Adults

I wanted to share what I made for each of the adults in our group. I found these cute reusable coffee cups at the Dollar Store and thought it would be fun to include something donut themed. (Because coffee and donuts go together so well!) I googled and found some cute mini donut playing cards to include.

I printed off some labels, taped them on, and called it a day. But I really think they turned out cute and I’d be happy to receive this as a gift on the cruise!
