5 Fun Ways to Get Your Kids to Brush Their Teeth

By on August 12, 2021

When my kids were toddlers, they actually liked brushing their teeth. It was new and exciting for them, and something they could (mostly) do by themselves. And that made them feel like big kids! But once they got a little older and realized that brushing their teeth twice a day wasn’t very exciting, they started to whine and fuss about having to do it. When they both ended up with cavities at a routine dentist appointment, I knew I had to do something. So I brainstormed some ways to make brushing your teeth seem more fun. Here are 5 fun ways to get your kids to brush their teeth:

1. Let them pick out a fun toothbrush.

We headed to Target and let the kids each pick out a couple of fun toothbrushes. Graham chose a pack of Star Wars toothbrushes and Maddie picked out a pack of light-up toothbrushes. They were both excited to use them when we got home!

A Few Tips for the First Few Days of Virtual Learning | sunshineandholly.com | distance learning

We just finished up day 4 of virtual learning and it sure has been a rollercoaster of emotions for all of us! Compared to what we did in the Spring, there’s a lot more work, more meetings, and more technology to learn. But getting the schedule down has for sure been the most difficult part of all of this for me. Having two kids in different grades with different teachers and completely different schedules had me feeling completely overwhelmed and frustrated! But after a few days, we seem to be getting the hang of things. And today went pretty smoothly! I wanted to share a few tips so that hopefully your first few days will go better than ours did.

What We’re Doing to Get Ready for Virtual Learning

Here we go again! Another semester of virtual learning. We’ve got this!

I’m hoping it will go much smoother this time since everyone has had more time to prepare. But I won’t lie – the schedule the school has proposed is very overwhelming! If I wasn’t worried about my children losing their spot at our charter school, I would probably just pull them and homeschool until they can go back. I feel like virtual learning is homeschooling without all the benefits of homeschooling (like controlling the content and schedule). But it’s fine. It’s all fine. We’re going to make it work!

Here’s a list of what we’re doing to get ready for virtual learning:

We received complimentary tickets to the Pirates Voyage Dinner Show and accommodations in Myrtle Beach in exchange for an honest review. As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own!

The Best Myrtle Beach Attraction for Families – The Pirates Voyage Dinner Show

We just got back from a super fun weekend in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Josh and I had both been to Myrtle years ago, but this was our first time taking the kids. I did a lot of Pinterest research before we left to see what family-friendly attractions were offered near our condo, and the Pirates Voyage Dinner Show kept popping up over and over. The reviews made it seem like a blast and we were so excited to check it out!

(The show is also a Dolly Parton Production, so I knew it would be excellent!)
