Easter 2019

April 25, 2019

We had such a great Easter this year! The weather was beautiful, no one was sick, we weren’t late to anything, and the Easter Bunny even had time to do a fun scavenger hunt for the kids.

We started celebrating Easter earlier in the week when we dyed Easter eggs with a kit from Target. It came with a powder that you mixed to make editable foam. It actually worked really well and made some beautiful eggs!

Maddie’s class did an egg hunt at school on Thursday. Poor thing bumped her head earlier in the week so she was sporting a super fashionable band-aid on her forehead. Luckily it didn’t clash with the socks and sandals she chose to wear.

On Easter Sunday, we headed to church and heard a wonderful sermon. Afterward, we had just enough time to swing back by the house where we found that the Easter Bunny had left a rhyming scavenger hunt for the kids. They had so much fun running around the house finding the clues and they LOVED all the little gifts the Bunny left for them in their Easter basket!

After that, we drove up to Hartwell, Georgia to have lunch and an egg hunt with Josh’s family. Of course, the day wasn’t complete without at least one or two #momfails. I had planned on stopping by Publix to pick up some sort of side to share for lunch, and the grocery store was closed. Luckily, we passed a Dollar General and I grabbed a few (somewhat lame) contributions to the meal – a pack of Hawaiian rolls, a 2-liter of Coke, and a package of cookies. (I know, I know, all the southern women out there are thinking, “bless her heart” about what I brought. But at least I didn’t show up empty-handed!) My other #momfail was forgetting to bring the Easter baskets for the egg hunt. Hence the Dollar General bag. So classy!

After we finished the hunt and my kids were on a major sugar high, we got back in the car and drove back down 85 to my parents’ house to visit a while. It was a long but fun day!

How was your Easter?
