UPDATE: I’m so sad to say that our Decatur Steel City Pops location has closed as of November 2019. We sure will miss these yummy pops! If you’re looking for other fun kid-friendly things to do in Decatur, click here!
This post was sponsored by Steel City Pops, but all opinions are my own!
Imagine this:
A sweet and tangy buttermilk popsicle dipped in decadent dark chocolate, sprinkled with crunchy chocolate cookie crumbs, and drizzled with smooth and creamy caramel sauce…
How about a coffee flavored popsicle with a chocolate brownie hidden inside, dipped in creamy milk chocolate, drizzled with dense dark chocolate, and dusted with espresso…
Maybe a peach cream popsicle made with local Georgia peaches from Pearson Farm, along with cream and turbinado sugar…
Or a perfectly spiced chai latte popsicle make with cream, cardamom, black pepper, cinnamon, ginger, and tea…
And what if I told you that last week I got to try all of these popsicle flavors, along with 13 other delicious pops? (It was a tough job, but someone had to do it!)
Are you hungry yet?
All of these popsicles are from Steel City Pops– my new favorite dessert spot! Steel City pops are definitely the best popsicles I’ve ever had. Each one is made from the freshest, all-natural or certified-organic ingredients that are harvested locally where possible. The flavors offered are so original and perfectly balanced. Dessert on a stick at it’s finest!
The fruity pops are light and bursting with fresh fruit flavor. And the creamy pops (my favorite!) are super decadent and the perfect treat when you’re looking to “treat-yo-self!”
You can also create and customize your own pop. Pick out a popsicle, and then have it dipped (in milk, dark, or white chocolate), dredged (in nuts, toasted coconut, cookie crumbs, or sprinkles), drizzled (with milk, dark, or white chocolate, caramel or raspberry sauce), and dusted (with cinnamon, cocoa, sea salt, espresso, or cayenne). The yummy possibilities are endless!
While you’re enjoying your pop, take a peek into their working kitchen. My kids are fascinated with each part of the popsicle making process! If you’re looking for a fun (and tasty) activity to do with your kids this summer, this is a spot to check out! It’s air-conditioned, fun, educational, AND you get a sweet and cold treat. (There’s even a free parking lot behind the shop on the corner of Church & Trinity.)
Another thing I love about Steel City Pops is their commitment to giving back. They partner locally with schools, organizations, groups, and non-profits. They also partner with NeverThirst, an organization dedicated to making clean, potable water accessible in third-world and underdeveloped nations. Steel City Pops bottles and sells Provid brand water, and donates 100% of the profits to NeverThirst. I love this mission!
Who’s ready to try some pops? If I haven’t already convinced you to visit Steel City Pops to try one for yourself, just know that I’ve been there 3 times already…in the last week and a half! (I’m not kidding when I say I’ve found my new favorite dessert spot!)
Steel City Pops is located at 312 Church Street, Decatur, Georgia and is open daily.

If I am ever in Georgia, this will definitely be on my MUST SEE list! The pops look amazing and tasty. And the fact that they give back is a huge bonus!
