Both of my kiddos were born in September, so we’re going to try to do joint parties for them for as long as possible. A two-for-one deal! For their last birthday, we did a Mermaid and Pirate theme. There are so many adorable ideas on Pinterest for a mermaid pirate birthday party and I went all out with the theme for the food and decorations!
The invitations were made by PixelPerfectionParty. So cute!
Graham’s pirate shirt was from a gift shop down in Tybee Island, GA.
Our mermaid shirts were made by RSS Custom Creations. So adorable!!! (Size up when ordering. I ordered an XL and it was still tighter than I would’ve liked. Maddie is wearing a 2T, but the sleeves were tight.)
We set up the party in our basement because it was still too hot to have it outside. Cool story about these crazy decorations: I was pinning a bunch of DIY decorations just like these on Pinterest, but knew I wasn’t going to actually make any of them. #lazymom Then one day, I was scrolling through Facebook and saw a post from a local church saying that they were getting rid of all of their Vacation Bible School “under the sea” decorations. I messaged the church, drove my minivan over, and took home as much as I could fit in my car! Score!!
The cake was my favorite part of the party! Isn’t is adorable?! My amazingly talented friend made it for us. If you’re in the Atlanta area, check out her Facebook page. Her cakes are so cute!
Loved the party! So much fun! The decorations were awesome!
this is such a cute idea Holly!
