Baby D.’s Gender Reveal Party!

By on May 4, 2012
Homemade gender reveal cupcakes. They’re actually much easier to make than you’d think!

Last Sunday, we had one of those popular “gender reveal” parties. And if you know me, I’m all about announcing things in a fun and creative way! If you couldn’t tell from this post and this post. πŸ™‚
Lots of blue and pink decorations!

ο»Ώ

More decorations!

ο»Ώ
ο»Ώ

The cupcakes. Everyone was dying to know what color filling was on the inside!

ο»Ώ

Voting!

The old wives tales make it seem like it’d be a girl.

Team Boy! And I’m still not sure how everyone knew!

Team Girl!
And here are the reactions. First up, Josh’s mom and dad:

“Are we ready?”

“Bite!”

“What color is it?”

“Blue!! I knew it!”
 And my parent’s reactions:

My dad is totally trying to sneak a peek here. πŸ™‚

ο»Ώ

“Ready?”

ο»Ώ
ο»Ώ

My mom sees blue and is looking at me totally surprised. I think my dad is either in shock, or still trying to figure out what color is inside. πŸ™‚

ο»Ώ

Then my dad starts smiling! “It’s a boy!”

And a few more candids from the party:
Josh with my good friend Kara’s sweet baby girl.

My cute niece!

Lauren and my niece. πŸ™‚

Josh and my older niece dancing!

Happy parents-to-be!

The Bump!

By on April 11, 2012
*Please excuse the wet hair. We’ve been taking these pics before work and I let my hair air dry on my way to work in the morning. πŸ™‚
I was so thin. πŸ™‚

This was actually atΒ 6 weeks pregnant. But since I didn’t know I was
preggers until then, this will count as the 1 month pic.

Baby or big meal?

2 months and sick as a dog.

Starting to show a tiny bit!

3 months!

4 months and finally starting to feel better!

I have a feeling I’m going to be HUGE by September. πŸ™‚

16 Weeks!

By on April 4, 2012

How far along? 16 loooong weeks. I’m so impatient and this pregnancy is taking forever!

Maternity clothes? Bought a belly band for my jeans. I really need some pants but I haven’t had time to do much shopping. I did order some maternity clothes from Old Navy. Just waiting on them to arrive.

Stretch marks? No more than I already had. πŸ™‚

Sleep: Still up once a night to pee. I’ve been needing so much sleep this whole pregnancy. I don’t feel like I get anything done after work. I eat and then sleep. But on the weekends I have lots of energy! πŸ™‚

Best moment this week: I’ve got an appointment tomorrow. Hopefully I’ll get to hear the heartbeat but I’m really not sure what will happen. My OBGYN’s office isn’t the best on communicating what’s going on. I’ve been wrestling on switching doctors…

Miss Anything? We had some friends in town this weekend for Josh’s birthday and everyone was drinking. I was chugging some pink lemonade. But I’m not gonna lie-it just wasn’t as fun. πŸ™‚

Movement: Too early.

Food cravings: Jelly beans! Josh went out yesterday evening to get me some. Mmmmmm!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Charred/BBQed meats.

Gender: Who knows. Gotta wait until my 20 week appointment. Sigh. It’s driving me crazy not knowing!!
Labor Signs: Too early.

Symptoms: Sooooo sleepy allll the time!

Belly Button in or out? In.

Wedding rings on or off? On.

Mood: Impatient!

Looking forward to: 4 weeks from now when I finally find out if this little one is a he or she!!

13 Weeks!

By on March 16, 2012

How far along? 13 weeks

Maternity clothes? Nope. My jeans are getting a little tight. I’m loving my dresses!

Stretch marks? Except for the ones I already had, nope. Damn freshman 15. πŸ™‚

Sleep: Pretty good. Up at 5am every night to pee, but other than that I’m sleeping through the night. And I’m still trying to get used to not sleeping on my stomach or back.

Best moment this week: Texting back and forth with Josh about names for the baby while we’re at work. πŸ™‚

Miss Anything? Sleeping on my stomach. And red wine. πŸ™‚

Movement: Nope.

Food cravings: Fruit, salads, lemonade, Pop Tarts, and anything sweet.

Anything making you queasy or sick: BBQ, sometimes Mexican food, onions and Greek yogurt. Which is sad because I bought a 12 pack of Choboni at Sam’s right before I started having morning sickness. πŸ™

Gender: I’ve been feeling boy but everyone says I’m having a girl since I’ve been craving fruit and sweets.

Labor Signs: Nope.

Symptoms: Still a little queasy here and there. And still a little sore in the chest area.

Belly Button in or out? In.

Wedding rings on or off? On.

Mood: Happy but sleepy.

Looking forward to: Relaxing this weekend. And we’re going to the Melting Pot on Saturday for their “endless fondue” event!! Can’t wait to pig out! I’m eating for two, right? πŸ™‚

What I’ve learned so far…

By on March 2, 2012

Morning sickness…that stuff is no joke. At both my appointment with my family doctor and my appointment with my obgyn, I felt fine. Literally less than 24 hours after my obgyn appointment…BAM. Sick as a dog.
And ever since then? Sick, sick, sick!!! I’ve been feeling TERRIBLE!! All day long nausea. No throwing up…but that’s because I HATE throwing up. I’d rather feel sick than throw up. I’ve been gagging a lot too. It’s miserable.

I can’t stand any meat. I’ve been eating a lot of scrambled eggs and peanut butter and jelly. Pizza and quesadilla are also settling ok. And fruit is still good. But I’m getting really tired of eating the same things over and over and over.

At work, I’m miserable. At home, I’m miserable. In the morning, I’m miserable. In the evening, I’m miserable.

I’ve tried eating saltines right when I wake up.

I’ve tried ginger gum.

I’ve tried vitamin B6.

I’ve tried ginger ale.

I eventually broke down and called my doctor. She prescribed me some nausea medicine. Even it doesn’t help that much!

So I’m just miserable. I can’t even THINK about food. (This from a girl who loves to cook, loves to eat, and watches tons of Food Network and Cooking Channel.)

I can’t open my fridge – the smells make me sick.

I can’t go to the grocery store – too much nasty looking food and too much to smell!

I can’t even look at Pinterest because if I scroll by a picture of food, I gag!

Y’all – this is horrible. I’m praying it will only last the first trimester…

And on theΒ bright side, at least I know that baby is still in there! Even if he is making me sick. πŸ™‚

P.S. Please don’t give me suggestions – trust me, I’ve tried almost everything. Just commiserate with me. πŸ™
