Disclosure: LEGOLAND Florida provided my family with complimentary admission for our visit. But all thoughts and opinions are my own!
My son, Graham, is a creator at heart. Ever since he was small, he has loved to build and make things. Don’t give him a coloring book – he’d much rather have a blank piece of paper to create what he sees in his imagination! Needless to say, Legos are his favorite toy. There really isn’t a better toy out there for creating and building. Over the years, Graham has built so many imaginative and inventive things with legos. He even had his own hashtag on Instagram for a while – #grahambuilds!
I’ve always wanted to take Graham to LEGOLAND in Florida. We decided to take advantage of the small break from school the kids had for President’s Day to take a quick trip down to visit. We had a blast! There was so much to see and do. We rode lots of fun rides, saw a really cool show, checked out tons of Lego structures, and spent some time building our own Lego creations!
Thinking about taking a trip down to LEGOLAND? Here are 5 reasons your kids will love LEGOLAND Florida Resort:
Awesome Shows
We only had time to check out one of the amazing shows at LEGOLAND, but it sure didn’t disappoint! We picked the Pirates Cove Live Water Ski Show. After all, where else can you see lifesized Lego men water skiing?! The kids LOVED it! Maddie really got involved in the show. The host told us to yell, “Pirates!” if we saw a pirate, and Maddie was the first to shout it out each time. Graham loved the stunts and laughed and laughed at the silly jokes. There are lots of other great shows to watch at LEGOLAND. Make sure to check out this season’s show guide on their website!
Fun and Interactive Rides
LEGOLAND has more rides and coasters than I was expecting, and unfortunately, we didn’t have time to ride them all. The ones we did ride were so fun and interactive! Our favorites were the Lost Kingdom Adventure and the LEGO NINJAGO ride. Check out all the other rides over on the website!
Tons of Lego Building Opportunities
You can’t visit LEGOLAND without taking some time to build with Legos! The Imagination Zone is the perfect place to let your imagination run wild and build anything you can dream of with Lego bricks! We also spent a lot of time strolling around and looking at the cool figures and structures in Miniland USA. You really could spend all day checking out the different sections and scenes!
Super Fun Playgrounds
My kids are theme park pros at this point, but we have found that they do so much better if we take a few breaks and let them run around and play. Luckily LEGOLAND Florida has lots of playgrounds and places for kids to get out their energy! We spent a good bit of time in the Forestmen’s Hideout, Pharoah’s Revenge, and the DUPLO Farm.
Cool Souvenirs
We couldn’t take Graham to LEGOLAND and not let him bring some Legos home with him! Luckily LEGOLAND has a bunch of great souvenir shops to explore and tons of fun toys to take home. Graham picked out a small Lego set and started building as soon as we got to the car!
Have you been to LEGOLAND Florida or a LEGOLAND discovery center?
PS – You can also tour Cypress Gardens while you’re at LEGOLAND! These historic gardens were established 75 years ago and LEGOLAND has taken great care to preserve the park.
