5 Ways to Prepare Your Backyard for Summer Fun

Summer break is almost here! There’s only one week of school left and believe it or not, I’m pumped! I know it won’t take me long to start counting down the days until school starts back. But for now, I’m looking forward to lazy mornings, lots of pool time, a couple of beach vacations, and spending more time with my kiddos.

(This post was sponsored by MissQuito Mosquito Control Company, but all thoughts and opinions are my own!)

To prepare for the long summer days ahead, I knew we needed to go ahead and get our backyard ready for fun. For years, our backyard has been an escape for us. When the minutes seem like hours and I’m exhausted and drained from entertaining my two wild things all day long, we head outside for a change of scenery and some sunshine. Kids need to be outside, and honestly, so do grownups! Going outside can do wonders for everyone’s mood when we’re grumpy and bored. And with summer break just around the corner, we need to make sure the backyard is ready! Here are some things we did to prepare:

By on June 19, 2020

A few weekends ago we were invited to stay at the most beautiful rental home  – Antlers Ridge Lodge! It was so wonderful to get away for a little bit and relax. Antlers Ridge Lodge is full of everything we needed for a few days away – like two fully stocked coffee bars, tons of board games and puzzles, huge 4k smart TVs, and beds that felt like sleeping on clouds! It really is the perfect getaway in North Georgia!

And the views! Who wouldn’t want to enjoy their morning coffee and cinnamon rolls while looking at this gorgeous view?!

Beech-Nut’s Million Meals at the Movies Benefitting No Kid Hungry – November 10th

In Georgia, more than 20 percent of children are hungry. Beech-Nut is partnering with No Kid Hungry because all kids should have access to real food. Join us at the Fernbank Museum – The Giant Screen Theater on Sunday, November 10th from 7 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. for Beech-Nut’s Million Meals at the Movies – a FREE family movie night fundraiser and storytime, benefitting No Kid Hungry. You’ll also have the opportunity to learn more about food insecurity and how every dollar donated to No Kid Hungry helps hungry children across the United States. Register to reserve your space and to make a tax-deductible donation to No Kid Hungry. You can also donate on No Kid Hungry’s web site by clicking here.

Santa in Tucker

Pictures with Santa should be fun! There is nothing like driving all over Atlanta only to end up standing in a long line surrounded by grumpy toddlers and parents to make you go Grinch. Skip the expensive holiday mini sessions and the trendy Santa photos that all look the same. Instead, visit Santa while enjoying cookies, crafts, coffee, music, merrymaking, and miscellaneous Christmas magic! This year, walk into a Winter Wonderland in historic downtown Tucker and get the kind of holiday photo you really want! Click here to book a session!
