Busy Times!

I’ve been so busy, I haven’t been able to blog! Here’s what we’ve been up to lately:
We visited a sunflower farm…

Attended a shower for my good friend Ntasha…

Ate some cupcakes…

Went to the beach…

Ate some more cupcakes…

Got mehndi for Ntasha’s wedding…
Had a blast at Ntasha and Vishal’s Sangeet… 

Had even more fun at Ntasha’s and Vishal’s wedding…
[Yes, the wedding was all day and required a wardrobe change. :)]

Welcomed Josh’s cousin’s new baby…

And have just been thoroughly enjoying the summer!

Kitchen è Finita!!

Yes, that’s right – the kitchen is FINISHED! Can you believe it? I can’t…it seems crazy that we actually finished such a huge project. And I’m SO happy with how it turned out! My iPhone is Old!

You know how you know you’ve had a phone for a LONG time?

The baby in this picture that I took with my phone…

Well…she came over to our house the other day. And she was up, walking around and talking. I can’t believe it – she’s a kid…not a baby anymore! 🙂

She was one of my husband’s parent’s foster children. I loved her so much – she was such a sweet baby! I honestly asked Josh if we could adopt her. But of course, we didn’t. But she got adopted by a great family who also adopted her older brother. (God is so great!)

And now she’s not a baby anymore – she’s a sweet little girl!

But I do need a new phone. 🙂

Summertime

Someone asked me the other day how my summer was going. And instead of being a normal person and saying “Great! How’s your summer going?” I said, “Well, summer doesn’t mean much to me. It’s just hotter.”

Weird – O.

Really? I mean, who says that?

But I guess what I was trying to say is that there is a span in you life when summer really doesn’t mean much. You’re done with school (so no summer break…boo) and you don’t have children (who are home from summer break) so really, it’s not much different than any other time of year.

It’s just hotter.

I guess I’m in need of a vacation. I’m getting a little grouchy. 🙂

Sorry my blog has been mostly pics lately. Apparently, I only have a lot to write about when my job’s not going well. 🙂 But honestly, work’s actually been pretty good. I’ve been super busy (which makes the days go by super fast!) and I just spent the last few weeks on-boarding a new employee in our department (which means I get to use some of my Human Resources skills that are going to waste!). So I’ve actually been happy with my work-life.

As for my personal life, things couldn’t be better! We’ve been doing tons of fun stuff (as you can tell by all the weekend pics) and we’ve almost finished the kitchen renovation. I’d say we’re about 99.5% done! 🙂

On a completely separate subject, I need to renew my teaching certificate. Yes, I’d rather die than teach, but I don’t want to let it expire – it’s a good back up career. But MAN – the Georgia Professional Standards Commission website is SO confusing! Hopefully I’ll figure out what the heck I’m supposed to do before the end of the month!
