Flashback Fridays

By on September 30, 2011

So I haven’t been a good blogger lately…

There’s just so much going on right now…and I feel like I’m in a whirlwind…and everything is so out of control in my life…and I just haven’t wanted to write about it! Blah!

So instead, I’ll keep doing these short “fluff” posts. 🙂 I’ve been wanting to join in on the “Flashback Fridays” posts for a while, so here’s my first Friday flashback. (Say that 5 times fast!)

A pic from my JUNIOR year of high school! Crazy right? This was during an orchestra trip to Disney. (Don’t think I ever mentioned here that I played the violin all through middle and high school. And I can STILL play…well…kind of…I’m pretty rusty.) Anyway, it was a super fun trip – I hung out with these lovely ladies! (Can you even recognize which one I am? I’m in the green shirt on the left. Nice sunglasses, right?) And that pretty girl in the yellow next to me, why that’s one of my very best friends STILL to this day. Mrs. Lauren!! (Of course, she was Ms. Lauren back then!)
Look at us now! We’re way hotter than we were back then. 🙂

Oops :)

By on August 19, 2011

Soooooo they blocked blogger at work….

And I’m pretty sure I’m the reason….

Oops. 🙂

I totally feel like I got in trouble.

But no one ever said anything. (Thank goodness!) They just blocked the site…

Oops. 🙂

I really only blogged during lunch or when I was taking a quick break…

Oh well. Live and learn. At least I didn’t get fired. 😛

Congrats Eric!

By on August 12, 2011

Last weekend we headed down to Columbus for Josh’s youngest brother’s basic training graduation. If you’ve never been to a service graduation, you’re missing out. They’re actually pretty cool. There’s smoke, and guns and cannons – quite a show! 🙂

Josh’s youngest brother, Eric, was a foster child that Josh’s parents took in. He’s such a sweet guy and he fit in so well with the family, so Josh’s parents decided to adopt him.

When you think of all Eric’s been through, it’s really a blessing how wonderful he has turned out. He’s a kind person with a great sense of humor.

Eric, we’re so proud of you! Congrats!

I’m Getting Old!

By on August 3, 2011

I’m just 26. Doesn’t that sound young?

But last week, I hit a milestone. A SCARY milestone.

At 26, I found…

My first gray hair! 🙁

*Sniff*

I first saw him it in the bathroom mirror at work. He was right on the top of my head, leering at me. He seemed to be saying, “Hey Holly…guess what? You’re getting OLD! Hahahah!” *evil laughter from the grey hair*

I was telling Josh later about the gray hair, and he didn’t believe me. He said it couldn’t be gray. It must just be really light-blonde from spending time in the sun this summer. So I pointed in the general area where I saw the hair.

But then Josh saw him too! Right there at the top of my head.

And of course, I wasn’t going to let him stay. So I told Josh to pluck him. And then we got a picture to remember the moment. The time Holly got her first gray hair.

And I better not get anymore for at least another 5, 10 years! 🙂
