Last week I heard about a new movement for a global day of giving called Giving Tuesday. Piggy-backing on the success of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Giving Tuesday uses the power of social media to kick off the charitable season. You can check out the Giving Tuesday website to find charities and organizations in your community. I hope you all join in the movement this year and give! Every little bit counts. If you do give back, make sure to share it on social media using the hashtag #givingtuesday so we can spread awareness of this awesome cause!
Here are a few organizations and charities that we love:
Our House
Our House is an amazing shelter here in Atlanta for children and families.
“At Our House, we are game changers. We offer children and families experiencing homelessness the tools, support, and education they need to thrive. By tackling homelessness at its source, we help the generation experiencing homelessness today, and break the cycle for those most likely to
experience it tomorrow.”

Moms Demand Action
I know this will be a touchy subject for some, but I’m sharing it here anyway. Each time I hear of a deadly shooting at a school, instead of just posting something on social media offering up my thoughts and prayers, or getting into an argument with someone about gun control, I click on this website to donate money. Moms Demand Action is an organization that’s fighting for public safety measures that can protect people and children from violence.
“Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America is a grassroots movement of Americans fighting for public safety measures that can protect people from gun violence. Moms Demand Action campaigns for new and stronger solutions to lax gun laws and loopholes that jeopardize the safety of our families. Moms Demand Action has established a chapter in every state of the country and, along with Mayors Against Illegal Guns, Students Demand Action and the Everytown Survivor Network, it is part of Everytown for Gun Safety, the largest gun violence prevention organization in the country with more than 5 million supporters and more than 350,000 donors.”

MedShare helps increase health system capacity and drives sustainability by providing biomedical equipment training and service to healthcare organizations and medical professionals serving populations in need. Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta
I’ve been so blessed with healthy children, but there are so many families out there that have children who are sick and need extra care.
“At Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, our doctors, nurses, and staff are specially trained to care for children under the age of 21. From colorful, friendly waiting rooms to equipment that fits patients of all sizes, every detail is designed specifically for kids.”

Atlanta Humane Society
Who wouldn’t want to help sweet dogs and cats who don’t have anyone to love them?
“Atlanta Humane Society serves about 30,000 animals each year, and places approximately 9,000 dogs and cats into forever homes. AHS is committed to finding homes for all adoptable pets. We do not euthanize adoptable animals, and there are no time limits for the animals once they are in our care. We are proud to be a part of the solution to ending pet homelessness and overpopulation in the southeastern United States.”
